Navigating Tides - Miss Yankey of Poetry Prescribed performed live at TBD ‘Mollitiam’ 29/01/2021.

As we navigate these tides I see uncertainty at levels never seen before. 

From shore to shore these waves of change 

reshape the way we spend our days 

and live our lives.

As we navigate these tides I break conventions and form new norms.

Weathering storms that cannot be measured on existing scales,

I am no longer scared to fail.

As we navigate these tides I dive into uncharted waters.

Swimming through wrecked ships I struggle to believe 

there is treasure to be found in these mounds of memories,

but then I remember that sometimes gold is found in silent lessons 

and shared in silver pieces.

As we navigate these tides I find myself at peace as I release the past and step into new futures. 

From the sea I spy a beach, 

I let go of everything I can't control

and focus on what's in my reach.

As we navigate these tides I emerge brand new.

You could say I was baptised in hard truths

and self-discovery.

I was thrown from the frying pan 

and into the deep.

As we navigate these tides I wonder
